James Greene Time of Orchids debut is alien, confounding, and vital, even within their broader catalog. One part mathcore, one part prog, and one part modern composition in almost equal measure. Charlie Looker's vocals lend another unique flavor to this album not found elsewhere in the discography. The "normal songs" are split up into two groups by Laugh Track, the surreal avant-garde centerpiece that had me stunned on first listen.
